Abstract Fluid flow is strongly affected by fractures in unconventional reservoirs. It essential to deeply understand the characteristics with for improving production and efficiency of reservoir exploitation. The purpose this work develop an accurate numerical model evaluate transient-pressure response well intersecting fractures. meshes generated from Fullbore Formation Micro-Imager (FMI) images ensure efficient description geometries interlayers. simulation implemented inhouse finite element method-based code benchmarked drill stem test (DST) data. results show that three regimes appear within period: wellbore afterflow, pseudolinear flow, radial flow. In contrast, only afterflow wells without also reveal dominate near wellbore. Verification application practicability integrated approach investigating behaviors reservoir.
